The Martinsberger Railway club - heating house Zwettl (MLV) was founded in 1988. The club is located at the heating house in Zwettl, Bahnhofstraße 31, A-3910 Zwettl.
The purpose of the association is to preserve the local railway track between Zwettl and Martinsberg with its environment and to perform special trips with historic locomotives and wagons. It is also an aim to maintain a museum driving and to set up a museum.
Beside the restoration work there are also various events organized by the club. They usually take place at the heating house in Zwettl.

ORF Summer Tour 2009
In the end of July 2009 the ORF Niederösterreich visited the club to take pictures for the "ORF Summer Tour" with the motto "clubs in front of the curtain". The MLV was selected for that TV-programme and it became an interesting report.
Our chief mechanic was interviewed by the reporter Petra Ottitsch. The report broadcasted on the 4th August 2009 shows a portrait of the club. It is primarily focused on the vehicles, the repairs and the other activities of the club.
As a result the club gained more awareness in Lower Austria. |
If you want to see more of the various activities of the club, there is a photo gallery. And if there is interest in participating in such events, here is a link to the news and the program for upcoming events. |

The club is primarily financed by membership fees, but also by aid money, donations and revenues from events. Thus we are very grateful for any support. This could be as an active member at the restoration of a steam locomotive, of an old wagon or of our heating house. Even as a supporting member, you can help in the form of membership dues.
The fees are:
As a member you receive information about our activities and arrangements. You also get discounts on each special trip of the MLV. We are looking forward to welcoming you in our club.
